Ok yes, it's true. But I think that the seller, who agreed to sell the object off of ebay, might have problems, too. So why should he forward the email to eBay? _________________ ** My Collection ** |

I don't know. This is the tabletop that I bought: http://www.ebay.it/itm/370671071041
(The game's name is written wrong ... so it did not appear if you have done a search )
Yes, the box is in Japanese and instructions is in English, I don't know why. |
Also this, for sale in Greece, have a Japanese box with English manual:

Oh, I don't think he will... Obviously he accepted the offer. I'm sure most people don't care, they just want to sell something. But if you do it a lot, you might run into one person that either works for eBay, or is just like reporting things... Just word it carefully: "Do you have a buy-it-now price?" or "How about a buy-it-now of $xx?" That way you are asking in a legit way (BIN listings are fine), if the _seller_ then suggests ending the auction and selling it to you, you are safe. You didn't ask him to do that...
Now, THAT one is over priced... But if you can talk him into 15 euro, I'll pay you back.
Just saw a listing for demo PSP game disc for over $7000... I think eBay has figure out how to pipe drugs to people through the internet. |

Are those photographs? If you have a scanner (or access to one), scan them with these settings:
600 DPI
Black & White image (not grayscale, but true black & white only)
Don't put anything behind them (no black sheet behind it, it won't be necessary).
If you have a contrast setting, set it to 80 (mine defaults to 72). Usually a slight increase above the default produces the best setting, especially if the original document isn't printed with really dark black ink (this one is brown, isn't it?)
Thanks for putting them up though, it's good to finally be able to read the instructions! |

Yes, it are some photos. At the moment I do not have the possibility to use a scanner.

jethro, thanks for taking the time to upload those instructions.
i'm very glad to be able to read them.
wow, i'm happy to see that this little game has generated such a buzz,
especially since i am such a huge fan of it. i had that game in my watch
list on ebay for 3 years or more and only saw it pop up about 3 times!
i'm thinking that it is harder to find here in the USA than other countries.
at any rate, thanks to everyone for talking about this one.
remember to keep it on the highest skill (2) when going for that high score!

The only reason the black paper trick isn't necessary when you do a black-and-white only scan is just that it never shows through, and it can cause excessive bleed of the letters (though usually not enough to affect the overall quality of the scan). The B&W scan will look for the highest contrast, and ignore the rest (unless you crank up the contrast setting, which for some really faint instructions might be necessary, and then you'd probably need to do it...)
Look at any of the scans in the manuals sections of my website. They are all scanned 600DPI black-and-white only, and they were all done a white-back scanner. Since most of the manuals are monochrome anyway, this works perfectly for them. Download one, print it out, and compare it side-by-side with the real manual. They usually make nearly 100% perfect copies (again, the color might be different if the manual was printed in a color instead of black). The Coleco Arcades are prefect examples of this.
But, yeah, if you are going to scan grayscale or color, putting black paper behind it is best (wasn't trying to say you were wrong or anything... just that it's not needed with B&W scans). Some scanners even come with a reversible backing that's white or black... Some manuals you have to do this with because of color, or really faint printing. I have one manual that is printed with yellow ink... Even the original manual is hard to read, scanning it is almost pointless. |

Many manuals have greyscale sprites. They are gone with B&W scans.
And personally, I like manual control over the treshold point for B&W. If you convert greyscale yourself, you can make the letters appear thinner or thicker as you like. |

Hmm, maybe it's the manuals you are scanning that makes a difference... Very few of the ones I have use grayscale at all... And the ones that do, it's usually just a black-and-white photo of the game on the cover... And even then, it's not true grayscale, it's dithered black-and-white, which can still be captured pretty good in a 1-bit image. If the quality of those images is important, then yes, different scanning techniques need to be used. I sometimes scan a page in 1-bit, grayscale and full color and combine the elements of each to get the best reproduction. Size was important when I started them too, I didn't 500mb PDFs of a 6 page manual...
Look at the Fights of the Titan manual, that's all solid color. There's not a single gradient anywhere. That's how most of my manuals look.
When I scan these, and print them out, you really can't tell the difference between the original and the printout other than the paper being different. That's my goal. Most people just want to download and read/print the manual, so that's what I'm trying to achieve. I find that if you start adjusting the image to make things thicker/thinner, it just tends to degrade the overall quality. And most people don't know how to make those adjustments anyway, so I'm trying to offer a ready-made solution for everyone.
If you really want to go all-out, you can just match the font and replace the text with actual text, instead of scanned graphics. That would be the best way if you want to modify the final output. (It'd make the file smaller too...)
We probably have different goals with our scans, that's all... |

My goal is B&W too, but I guess you have a damn fine scanner. Mine put on B&W does not get it. |

Got mine today. Awesome display! Now find out how to play...
Billy, do you need to move the stick while pressing the action button to kill the monsters? First action, then direction, or the other way? |
